ESC PREVIEW Today: #23- PORTUGAL.  A preview of the 43 songs in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, which begins this May in Lisbon, Portugal. The preview begins with the weakest songs and works its way to the best in this year's line-up.The songs are ranked in order of quality as heard in the studio versions.

O JARDIM

After being Eurovision's most unsuccessful country, Portugal tasted victory for the first time with its best entry in 2017. This year, Claudia Pascoal will perform "O Jardim" in Portuguese. The title means "The Garden". 

It is unlikely to give the country a second win at Eurovision. While it is better than Portugal's usual fare, it may fall apart in the live delivery.

 As last year's winner, Portugal's capital Lisbon is the host city and should give the ESC a new flavour. "O Jardim" is automatically in the Grand Final, which may be just as well.
