These songs are well known but you may not know about the earlier attempts to score a hit record with prior versions of the same song.

How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore

On her debut album 'Songs In A Minor', Alicia Keys included the future single "How Come U Don't Call Me". In 2002, the disc made the Top 30 in Britain, Europe and Australia. 

The original version of the song was recorded by its writer Prince. In 1982, the track was used as the B-side for his hit single "1999". It later re-surfaced on the 3rd disc of his 'The Hits / The B-Sides' compilation album. This triple CD collection was issued in 1993.
