A Danish victory in 2013 brought the Eurovision Song Contest to Copenhagen the next year. The event was watched by 195 million viewers around the globe. National juries were revamped with an emphasis on greater transparency.
While the Dutch entry "Calm After The Storm" took the lead in Semi-Final 1, the 2nd was won by Austria. The 2 nations occupied the top 2 places at the conclusion of the Grand Final. Out in front was Austrian entrant Conchita Wurst with 290 points for the song "Rise Like A Phoenix".
