Diane Warren's lyrics were perfectly suited to Whitney Houston's life at the time of its release. The song was included on the singer's 2009 comeback album 'I Look To You'. This followed a controversial marriage and battle with drugs.
Houston was trying to reconstruct her career with the new album. The song dealt with adversity and struggle, with the protagonist discovering the power she possessed within herself.
Sadly, Houston's comeback did not last long enough to see the performer regain her vocal ability and a healthy lifestyle. Her life came to a tragic end when she was found dead 3 years later.
