Caffé Latté looks back on
the key moments of Europe’s annual competition.
1992
Malmö became the 3rd Swedish city to host Eurovision in 1992. Europe was changing and this was to be Yugoslavia's final appearance at the ESC. It had won in 1989 with "Rock Me".
A record 23 countries competed, with the UK entry "One Step Out Of Time", performed by Michael Ball, the favourite. In the end, the talented vocalist had to settle for 2nd place. Linda Martin was back and this time improved on her 2nd place in 1984, claiming victory with "Why Me?". As had been the case with "Terminal 3", the Irish entry had been penned by Johnny Logan.
The Irish victory gave Logan the unique distinction of winning Eurovision twice as both a performer and songwriter. This was Ireland's 4th win.
