As countries begin selecting their entries for the Eurovision Song Contest in May, this blog will look back on the stats and the best from each of the 43 participating nations.

Hungary has participated at Eurovision 14 times since its debut in 1994. That first entry, performed by Friderika Bayer, remains its best result- finishing in 4th position. The 2016 Hungarian song "Pioneer" by Freddie was voted into the Grand Final but only managed 19th place.

Hungary's entry and performer will be announced on February 18.
