SAN MARINO

TheSocialNetworkSong.jpgFor a time, San Marino filled the void left by Italy's lengthy Eurovision boycott. The tiny autonomous republic first competed at the ESC in 2008. It was absent the next 2 years but has participated each year since its re-emergence in 2011. Thus far, San Marino has only made it to a Grand Final once: in 2014. This was a case of 3rd time lucky for performer Valentina Monetta who had represented San Marino at Eurovision in 2012 and 2013. The 1st attempt, "The Social Network Song (Oh Oh -Uh- Oh Oh)", was a controversial song that required alteration as it originally referred to Facebook.
The 2014 song and its performer is yet to be announced. San Marino will compete in Semi-Final 2.
