Black Box
Italo house hit "Ride On Time" readied dance music for its 90s revival. In 1989, the Black Box single topped the British charts. The Eurodance track charted well in Europe and Australia, paving the way for the likes of Technotronic, 2 Unlimited, Snap! and C+C Music Factory.

NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE
Gloria Gaynor
Only 3 years after The Jackson 5 original had stormed the charts, Gloria Gaynor recorded a remake. Transforming the Motown classic into a dance track resulted in a seminal recording. In 1974, her "Never Can Say Goodbye" became the US Disco Chart's 1st #1.

AROUND THE WORLD
Daft Punk
"Around The World" put Daft Punk on the map. In 1997, the track charted well throughout Europe, Britain and Australia. It also topped the US Dance Chart. Since then, the French House duo has radically influenced the sound of dance music.

KC & The Sunshine Band
Disco was still in its infancy when KC & The Sunshine Band dropped "That's The Way (I Like It)". The catchy song zoomed to #1 in America during 1975 and became one of the best known disco classics.

BILLIE JEAN
Michael Jackson
The highlight of Michael Jackson's record-breaking album 'Thriller' was "Billie Jean". The funky / R&B track topped the American, British, Canadian, European and Australian charts in 1983. MJ coupled the single's release with his 'Moonwalk' dance move.

FRENCH KISS
Lil Louis
American DJ/ producer Lil Louis became a key exponent of the Chicago house scene. "French Kiss" came out in 1989 and charted high in the UK and Europe. It famously contained sexual moans and groans.

HEART OF GLASS
Blondie
Producer Mike Chapman created an immortal dance track by fusing new wave, disco and punk together on "Heart Of Glass". The single lifted Blondie to #1 in America, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

I GOTTA FEELING
Black Eyed Peas
With David Guetta, dance shifted gears. He created a hip hop and house hybrid on "I Gotta Feeling". In 2009, the dance track topped charts all over the planet.

NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS
Tina Turner
Ike Turner produced the 1973 stomper "Nutbush City Limits". Written and performed by his (then) wife Tina Turner, the song and its "Nutbush" routine lives on to this day.

Donna Summer
"Hot Stuff" was a radical marriage of disco with rock at a time when radio formats and audiences were rarely flexible regarding the mixing of genres. Donna Summer's single was a hit in 1979, reaching #1 in America, Japan, Canada and Australia.
