2017
As countries begin selecting their entries for the Eurovision Song Contest in May, this blog will look back on the stats and the best from each of the 43 participating nations.

Salomé - Vivo cantando.jpgSpain first participated in 1961. It was the 1st of only 3 countries to score consecutive wins (in 1968 & in the 4-way tie of 1969). Spain is assured of a place in the 2017 Grand Final as it is the last of 'The Big 5' countries that do not require qualification during the Semi- Finals. 
A Spanish entry has not won since the controversial 1969 contest (with "Vivo Cantando"). Its 2017 ESC entry will be announced on February 1.
