2017
As countries begin selecting their entries for the Eurovision Song Contest in May, this blog will look back on the stats and the best from each of the 43 participating nations.

Euphoria-by-loreen.JPGHeroes Måns Zelmerlöw.png Sweden takes Eurovision seriously. It has been rewarded with 6 wins, (2nd only to Ireland for most victories). ABBA famously was the 1st Swedish victor, snatching the top prize with "Waterloo" in 1974. Stockholm was the 2016 host city after "Heroes" won in 2015.
Charlotte Nilsson - Take Me to Your Heaven.jpg  The national finals will begin in early February . The 2017 Swedish song and its performer will be determined in mid-March. Among the competitors are 2 previous ESC winners for Sweden: Loreen ("Euphoria", 2012) and Charlotte Perrelli ("Take Me To Your Heaven", 1999).
