YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE
 SERGEY LAZAREV
When Sergey Lazarev stepped out onto the Eurovision stage and performed "You Are The Only One", there were several moments where the breathless audience looked on in awe. The Russian entry raised the bar in terms of presentation, using innovative technology. At the Grand Final, the song finished in 3rd position and deservedly collected the most public votes.

WE ARE YOUR TOMORROW
 DAVID LINDGREN
Sweden's national competition Melodifestivalen determines the Swedish Eurovision entry for that year. David Lindgren was a grand finalist with "We Are Your Tomorrow", an upbeat and optimistic song that should have resonated with the mood in Europe in 2006. Instead, Frans was chosen, with "If I Were Sorry". He finished strong at #5 in Stockholm.

SEPTEMBER
 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, ANNA KENDRICK &
EARTH, WIND & FIRE
The 1978 hit "September" has proven to be a timeless celebratory track over time. Maurice White, one of the 2 lead vocalists on the original, passed away during the year.  Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick covered the song for the film 'Trolls'. The original group responsible for the song, Earth Wind & Fire, joined in on the 2016 remake.
