Hazy Shade Of Winter

The Bangles' music frequently evoked memories of 1960s pop. Their 1987-8 single "Hazy Shade Of Winter" was included on the soundtrack for the film 'Less Than Zero'. This proved a popular release for the all-female pop band. The single peaked at #2 in America. It also went Top 10 in Canada and Australia. On the UK chart, the disc reached #11.

In 1966, the original version of the song was issued. Paul Simon composed the folk rock tune while part of a duo with Art Garfunkel. The initial title was "A Hazy Shade Of Winter". Simon & Garfunkel's version peaked at #13 in the U.S.A. and 30 in Britain.
