Diana Ross
Diana-baby.jpgIn 1977, Diana Ross dropped her album 'Baby It's Me' which contained the opening track "Gettin' Ready For Love". The single climbed to #27 on the US chart.

ALL IN LOVE IS FAIR
Stevie Wonder
Written, produced and arranged by Wonder, "All In Love Is A Fair" is a stunning ballad on his 1973 abum 'Innervisions'. The following year, Barbra Streisand covered the song for her 'The Way We Were' studio album.

I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
The Contours
The Contours remain one of the underrated groups from Motown's impressive roster. Best remembered for "Do You Love Me?", the act recorded the superior "I Like Everything About You" in 1967. It was written by Holland / Dozier / Holland but is still an obscure track worthy of widespread appreciation.

Martha & The Vandellas
Martha Reeves and her Vandellas released "I'm Ready For Love" in 1966. The upbeat track composed by Holland / Dozier / Holland readily rose to #9 Pop and 2 R&B in America.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD ABOUT YOU

The Supremes
The B-side of "My World Is Empty Without You" was "Everything Is Good About You". The single was issued in late 1965. Both tracks were featured on the 'I Hear A Symphony' album. Eddie Holland co-wrote "Everything..." with James Dean (not the actor).

HEaven is 10 Zillion light years away
Stevie Wonder
With his 1974 LP 'Fulfillingness' First Finale', Wonder collected a swag of Grammy Awards including Album of the Year. One of its highlight tracks is the gospel-flavoured "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away".

India.Arie's neo-soul "Brown Skin" is an empowering track celebrating the beauty of brown-skinned individuals. The single was lifted off her 2001 debut album 'Acoustic Soul'.

THE COMPOSER

Smokey Robinson wrote "The Composer" and produced The Supremes' original recording of the song for their 1969 album 'Let the Sunshine In'. He cut it later with his group on the 'Time Out For Smonkey Robinson and The Miracles' album that same year.
