WHITNEY HOUSTON:
WHITNEY HOUSTON
Whitney Houston - Whitney Houston (album).jpg
 [1985]
Whitney Houston announced her arrival with an eponymous debut album that launched her into pop superstardom.Within this album's tracks, the young beauty went from rising new star to a pop diva that would own the charts for the rest of the decade. While its cover promised a nascient R&B / soul performer, the album's content leaned more towards adult contemporary. The disc does offer diversity. There are the ballads such as "Greatest Love Of All" and the dynamic vocal performances in "Saving All My Love For You" and "All At Once". Houston slows down for the slow and soulful "You Give Good Love". Pop and dance are represented by "How Will I Know". There are 3 duets, 2 shared with Jermaine Jackson. Once the album exploded, massive sales followed and 3 of its tracks reached #1 in America.
Highlight tracks: Saving All My Love For You; How Will I Know; Greatest Love Of All & All At Once.
