American singer / songwriter Charlie Puth is poised for a bigger year with a new album due in 2016. He was a consistent chart contender throughout 2015. "Marvin Gaye" was packed with references to the immortal soul singer it is named after.

Australian hip hop group Hilltop Hoods' hit single was lifted off the act's 7th studio album. Its sales were re-ignited after a strong finish on radio station JJJ's end of year poll in 2014. "Cosby Sweater" peaked at #4 in Australia.


#1 DOWNTOWN Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 
featuring Eric Nally, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee & Grandmaster Caz
The hip hop duo wrote the retro-flavoured "Downtown". Ryan Lewis also produced the track. On the Australian chart, the song reached #1.
