Hall & Oates redefine a musical direction the duo would mine throughout the 1980s on 'Voices'. The sound is more pop than soul here and established the 2 men as the leading duo on the charts. "Diddy Doo Wop (I Hear Voices)" might just have influenced Billy Joel for 'An Innocent Man' and his hit 'River of Dreams'.
