CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#210 THE SIGN Ace Of Base
Following the group's breakthrough in 1992 with "All That She Wants", Ace Of Base enjoyed a string of hits that continued with "Happy Nation" the next year. "The Sign" was also issued in 1993 and proved to be an even bigger international success.
The song was written by the group's Jonas "Joker" Berggren. Lead vocals on the track were handled by his sisters Jenny and Malin "Linn" Berggren. Ulf "Buddha" Ekberg, the 4th member,  was involved in the single's production, along with "Joker", Douglas Carr and Denniz Pop.
"The Sign" reached #1 in Australia, the US, Spain, New Zealand, Finland, Canada and Germany. In Britain, the disc peaked at #2, as it did in Sweden and Ireland. The single's success saw Ace Of Base join Roxette and ABBA as leading Swedish musical exports.
More hits followed: "Don't Turn Around" and "Living In Danger" in 1994; "Lucky Love" and "Beautiful Life" the following year; "Cruel Summer" and "Always Have, Always Will" in 1998. Their final release thus far is "All For You" in 2010. The 2 sisters were noticeably absent from the group's line-up, replaced by 2 similar- sounding female singers.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song is added each day.
