CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#268 IN AND OUT OF LOVE Diana Ross & The Supremes
The last US Top 10 hit written by the trio of brothers Eddie & Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier for Diana Ross and The Supremes was "In and Out of Love". The track, recorded in L.A. in April 1967, was included on their  album 'Reflections'. Its working title was "Summer Good, Summer Bad". Brian Holland co-produced the track with Dozier. Overdubs were recorded in Detroit in June and July.
Released as the 2nd single from the LP in late October, it reached #9 in America and 13 in Britain. This was to be 1 of the final songs to feature founding member Florence Ballard. Motown fired her and recruited Cindy Birdsong as a replacement. Years of litigation between Motown and Ballard followed. Sadly, the former Supreme even ended up on welfare. On February 21, 1976, Ballard died of cardiac arrest, aged only 32.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new instalments are added each day (every 12 hours) with 1 of the remaining 300 songs as well as moving down from #1201 to 1500, with 5 of those songs added daily.
