CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#259 I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY The Eagles
Timothy B. Schmit joined the Eagles' ranks in 1977. His recruitment was just in time for the recording of the rock group's 'The Long Run' album, which was released 2 years later. That LP featured a track co-written by Schmit with founding members Don Henley and Glenn Frey entitled "I Can't Tell You Why". The band was aiming for an R&B attitude, modelled after Smokey Robinson. Bill Szymczyk produced the recording. The ballad was issued as a single and made the Top 10 in both the US and Canada.
The Eagles announced they had split in 1982. They regrouped in 1994 and dropped a live album, 'Hell Freezes Over' 2 years later. Turmoil within the group culminated in the ejection of Don Felder from its line-up in 2001. Court litigation ensued, until the parties settled out of court 6 years later. The Eagles persevered as a 4-piece group.
2007 also saw the release of a new studio album, 'Long Road out of Eden'. The double album featured songs contributed by all 4 members. The Eagles remain 1 of the most lucrative touring bands. They will return to Australia yet again for concerts in 2015.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new instalments are added each day (every 12 hours) with 1 of the remaining 300 songs as well as moving down from #1201 to 1500, with 5 of those songs added daily.
