CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1500 CHOICE TRACKS

#255 BOOGIE SHOES K.C. and The Sunshine Band
K. C. & The Sunshine Band formed in Florida in 1973. The racially diverse act was 1 of the leading exponents of disco, helmed by Harry Wayne Casey (K.C.) and Peter Finch. The 2 met at work in Miami's TK Records. Their 1st success was writing the US #1 "Rock Your Baby" for George McCrae in 1974. The following year, the 2 achieved their own chart topper as part of K. C. & The Sunshine Band with "Get Down Tonight". "That's The Way (I Like It)" followed it to the top before the year's end. "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" and "I'm Your Boogie Man" also made the chart summit in 1976 and 1977 respectively. "Keep It Comin' Love" peaked at #2 for 3 weeks in the latter year. Its follow-up was "Boogie Shoes".
Casey and Finch co-wrote and co-produced the song, which was originally the B-side for "Shake Your Booty", but re-issued after its inclusion on the 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack. Despite the record-breaking sales of the LP, "Boogie Shoes" reached the Top 40 in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
The disco- flavoured hits kept coming, albeit with diminishing returns, until the group returned to #1 with the ballad "Please Don't Go" in late 1979. The single also topped the charts in Canada and Australia. Casey peaked at #2 with singer Terry DeSario on the love song "Yes I'm Ready"  around this time.
"Give It Up" was the final major hit song for the group (although credited to only K. C. in some territories) in 1983. It reached the top in Britain and peaked at #3 in Australia. The group split up around this time, but reformed in the 1990s. To this day, the band still tours around the world.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new instalments are added each day (every 12 hours) with 1 of the remaining 300 songs as well as moving down from #1201 to 1500, with 5 of those songs added daily.
