CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

Mid-week bonus - 1 new song will be added every 8 hours throughout today
#332 LATE IN THE EVENING Paul Simon
Paul Simon created a solo gem with his 1980 chart hit "Late in the Evening". The song was featured in the film 'One Trick Pony' whuch starred Simon. While the movie flopped, the song remains 1 of the highlights of the singer/ songwriter's catalogue. Simon penned the song and co-produced it with Phil Ramone. Session musicians on the recording included drummer Steve Gadd, guitarist Hugh McCracken and percussionist Ralph McDonald. The track was cut in A&R Studios in New York.
Released as a single in 1980, "Late..." made the Top 10 in America and Canada. It also charted in Britain and Australia. This was Simon's last major chart success until later in the decade and the hits from his 'Graceland' classic album.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
