On her 2000 album 'Light Years', Kylie Minogue recorded material sourced from various writers. For 4 of its tracks, Guy Chambers was the co-writer; with 3 of them featuring input from Robbie Williams. "Loveboat" is 1 that was the result of collaborative co-writing from Minogue, Chambers and Williams. Steve Power co-produced with Chambers. The latter performed keyboards and electric guitar on the track. Phil Spalding played bass. Renowned session singer Tracey Ackerman is among the backup vocalists, as is Minogue herself.
