CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#336 SOMETHING ABOUT YOU Level 42
UK group Level 42 formed in 1979. By 1981, Mark King had assumed the role of lead singer. The big breakthrough happened with their 6th album, 'World Machine' in 1984. This release featured the hit single "Something About You".
The song was penned by group members Phil and Boon Gould, Mike Lindup and King with session keyboardist Wally Badarou. The latter produced the track with the band members. "Something..." went Top 10 in the UK, America, New Zealand and Ireland.
"Lessons in Love" kept the chart momentum going, followed by hits that included "Leaving Me Now" and "Running in the Family". The Gould brothers quit the band in 1987. Level 42 continued to chart in Britain until 1994. Line-up changes followed with King remaining the only consistent group member. In 2010, he recorded with Lindup to mark the group's 30th anniversary.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
