CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#450 LIVE AND LET DIE Paul McCartney & Wings
Wings was the 1st rock band to record a Bond theme. Pivotal group member Paul McCartney penned the title song for the 1973 movie 'Live and Let Die'. The film marked the debut of Roger Moore in the role of 007 James Bond.
When George Martin was put in charge of scoring the 007 film, he approached McCartney to write a song. Wings recorded a demo. Martin produced the track. Originally, Thelma Houston was going to record the vocal, until the former Beatles producer persuaded the Bond franchise producers to let McCartney and Wings perform "Live and Let Die".
Released as a single in 1973, the disc became the most successful Bond single to date on the US chart. It peaked at #2 there for 3 weeks. In Britain, it reached #9. The single was also a Top 10 hit in Canada, Australia and Norway. McCartney's Bond hit was nominated for an Academy Award. It was beaten by the title song from 'The Way We Were'.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
