#456 LIFTED Lighthouse Family
Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker formed The Lighthouse Family in 1993. The UK duo met in college. While both were London-born, the former grew up in Nigeria, before returning to the UK. The duo released its debut album 'Ocean Drive' in 1994 and "Lifted" was their 1st single. In 1995, it reached #61 on the British chart. The song was penned by the duo with Martin Brammer. Mike Pedden produced the recording.
 Re-released in 1996, the single fared much better; reaching #4 in the UK this time, as well as charting in Denmark and Ireland. This returned 'Ocean Drive' back on the album charts. Lighthouse Family placed more singles on charts around the world. Their biggest hit was "High" in 1998, which reached #1 in Australia and made the Top 10 in many European countries and New Zealand. That record also charted in America.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
