CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#493 AGAINST ALL ODDS Phil Collins
Phil Collins' career began as a child stage actor, culminating in his portrayal of the "Artful Dodger" in the West End production of "Oliver". He is of course better known now as a singer, both solo and as vocalist / drummer of Genesis. He took over as its lead singer following the departure of Peter Gabriel. His first solo releases were issued in 1981 and Collins attracted much respect for the single "In The Air Tonight" that year.
In 1984, Collins released the title song for a film starring Jeff Bridges and Rachel Ward. He penned "Against All Odds" himself and Arif Mardin produced the recording. The single became his biggest hit to date; reaching #1 in the US, Ireland, Canada and Norway. "...Odds" also went Top 10 in the UK, Australia, Europe and New Zealand.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
