CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#470 FOR ALL WE KNOW The Carpenters
Karen and Richard Carpenter caught a movie while on tour in Toronto. Entitled 'Love and Other Strangers', it featured a song performed by Larry Meredith. "For All We Know" impressed the siblings. The ballad won the Best Original Song Oscar. It was penned by Fred Karlin, Robb Boyer and James Griffin. The former composed the music and the latter 2 the lyrics. Boyer and Griffin used the pseudonyms Robb Wilson and Arthur James. That was due to the 2 being members of the MOR group Bread and they were under contract.
The Carpenters included it on their 1971 self-titled album. Jack Daugherty produced the track. The song reached #1 on the US Adult Contemporary chart and #3 Pop. In Britain, the single peaked at #18. That same year, the disc made the Australian Top 10.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
