THE CAFFE` LATTE` TOP 100 SONGS OF
2013
#1

1:SAME LOVE Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Mary Lambert
Songs like this are too rare in pop music. Songs like this rarely reach #1. Who could listen and not be moved by its powerful message? Every lyric sounds carefully selected. No verses are wasted. Well written and delivered by this exciting new duo, with guest vocals from Mary Lambert. Easily the best song of 2013, from the album 'The Heist' and with an inspiring accompanying video.

2:BLURRED LINES Robin Thicke featuring Pharrell & T.I.
Sounding very similar to Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" didn't hurt this funky song one bit. With controversial lyrics (and the link below is for the uncut video), everything came together for 1 of the most irresistible songs of the year. Arguably the best known song of 2013 across generations.

3:DANCE YOUR PAIN AWAY Agnetha Faltskog
The only upbeat track on her comeback 'A' album finds Agnetha Faltskog suggesting that problems be left behind on the dancefloor.

4:GET LUCKY Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams
A nostalgic nod to the days of disco and funk with the essential beat provided by Nile Rodgers on guitar. Pharrell lends guest vocals on 1 of the most popular singles of 2013; a #1 in Europe, UK, Australia, Israel and Mexico.

5:THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU NOW Agnetha Faltskog
'A' was a splendid return showing that Agnetha Faltskog can still make any song a special event.

6:ROAR Katy Perry
I'm no fan of Katy Perry, but this song was just too irresistible: I loved it! Catchy pop with an empowering message. The song is also on her 2013 album 'Prism'.

7:FINE CHINA {Worldwide Remix} Chris Brown featuring Pitbull
Chris Brown sounds very Justin Timberlake & Michael Jackson on this smooth R&B song.

8:I DREAMED A DREAM Anne Hathaway
"I Dreamed A Dream" has been covered by others, but it's unlikely anyone will ever 'own' it the way Anne Hathaway did in THE moment from the 2012 film 'Les Miserables'. In 2013, she collected the  Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Fantine.

9:MY LOVE Cher
Cher sounds as contemporary as anyone in pop/ dance music today with this soaring uptempo track (reminiscent of "Believe") from her 'Closer to the Truth' album which was issued in 2013: brilliant! Can't wait to hear the remixres that will follow when this becomes an official single in 2014.

10:OOO LA LA Robin Thicke
Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' album not only borrowed sounds from the past (Prince, Timberlake, Jackson & Gaye etc.), but also the practice of an album containing many potential hit singles. It was great value for money and "Ooo La La" is just 1 smooth highlight.

The Caffe` Latte` Top 10 songs of the week continues in 2014 every Sunday right here.
