#535 LOVE'S ABOUT TO CHANGE MY HEART Donna Summer
After years of trying to shake off the Queen of Disco tag, Donna Summer embraced her past and delivered a contemporary dance record. Summer had never been just a disco artist and she astutely moved in new musical directions as that craze was winding down in 1980.
1989 saw Summer work with the very successful Mike Stock/ Matt Aitken/ Pete Waterman team. The trio wrote and produced the track "Love's About To Change My Heart". It was the 3rd single lifted off the parent album 'Another Place and Time'. Working with the British hit making team saw Summer fare better in the UK than in America. "Love's About..." peaked at #20 in Britain and 11 in Ireland.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
