CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#567 RAY OF LIGHT Madonna
In 1998, Madonna's 'Ray of Light' found her pushing electronica into the mainstream. This album found her collaborating with William Orbit. The result was fresh and exciting. Madonna was still in the dance zone, but this time, innovative sounds were incorporated into the recording.
The title track was produced by the singer and Orbit. They co-wrote it with Clive Maldoon, Dave Curtis and Christine Leach. Orbit's contemporary influence is everywhere on this track, with its sprinkling of sound effects, club beats and electric guitar meshed with Madonna's breezy vocals. The single reached #1 on the US dance chart and 5 Pop. In the UK, it peaked at #2. "Ray..." was also a Top 10 hit in Australia, Italy and Canada.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
