Keane are a British trio that formed in 1997. The same record executive that helped discover Coldplay, Simon Williams, signed up Keane. The group consists of singer Tom Chaplin, drummer Richard Hughes and the all important pianist (as well as bass player & keyboardist) Tim Rice-Oxley. All 3 are credited for writing "Somewhere Only We Know", a track from their 'Hopes and Fears' album, which was issued in 2004. They co-produced the record with Andy Green. The single peaked at #3 on the UK charts, Top 10 in France and was their first chart entry in the US.
