#764 WHEN I KISSED THE TEACHER Abba
ABBA entrenched themselves as global dominators with their most complete album to date, 'Arrival'. Released in 1976, the LP opens with "When I Kissed The Teacher". Male members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus created this song which deals with a schoolgirl's crush on her teacher. Suddenly, unable to control herself, she plants a kiss on the object of her affection. Along with writing it, the pair produced the track. Agnetha, usually brilliant with ABBA's most poignant songs, delivers the lead vocal for this cheerful and upbeat recording. Few adults could have pulled this off without sounding ridiculous, but that is the genius of ABBA.
