TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#1071 OPUS 17 (DON'T YOU WORRY 'BOUT ME) The Four Seasons
The Broadway show "The Jersey Boys" finally gave The Four Seasons the credit they deserved for their impact on popular music and a string of hits that spanned across 3 decades. They exposed white mainstream audiences to the sound of barber shop quartets, a capella groups from the R&B tradition and delivered their songs in a radio-friendly rock/ pop style. These tracks were so well sung and produced that audiences found them simply irresistible.
"Opus 17" is not as well known as the group's biggest hits, but it is bursting with pop hooks and the magical harmonies The Four Seasons were famous for. Frankie Valli encourages us all through hard times with the lyrics from this song written by Denny Randall & Samdy Linzer. The single made the charts in 1966.
