#1033 HIGH FLYING, ADORED Antonio Banderas & Madonna
The musical 'Evita' was created by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Initially, there was a concept album in 1976. The show premiered in London's West End 2 years later. In 1979, 'Evita' opened on Broadway. Fast forward to 1997 and a film adaptation was completed, starring Madonna & Antonio Banderas, playing the roles of Eva Peron and Che Guevara. On "High Flying, Adored" the 2 characters come together on vocals. Madonna had struggled to cross over to acting, despite a long string of hits by the time she portrayed the Argentine ruler. Banderas, on the other hand, had already acted in films such as 'The Mambo Kings', 'Philadelphia' and 'Desperado'.
