TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#1030 ELOISE Barry Ryan
When it was released in 1968, "Eloise" was one of the longest singles at a time when pop songs were normally short and snappy. Barry Ryan recorded the original hit version of the song. It was penned by his brother Paul Ryan. Running for just under 6 minutes, the smash features odd effects as well as a bombastic orchestral segment. Regularly changing mood, "Eloise" keeps the surprises coming throughout its running time. The song is a harbinger of the glam movement that was to explode in the 1970s.
