#1029 THE BOY IN THE BUBBLE Paul Simon
In 1986, Paul Simon's landmark album 'Graceland' introduced mainstream record buyers to the exciting and traditional sounds of Africa. The LP opens with "The Boy in the Bubble", with lyrics by Simon and music composed with Forere Motloheloa. The latter is heard driving the beat of this song on accordion. The musicians infuse the cut with what they refer to as "Sotho traditional" sounds. Released as a single in 1987, the song was the third lifted off the Grammy Award- winning Album of the Year.
