CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#1136 YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' Righteous Brothers
Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil co-wrote this radio staple with infamous producer Phil Spector. His "Wall of Sound" was added to what became the epic production. The finished product was too long for radio, but Spector refused to edit the track. He reversed the time length shown on the single- from 3:50 to 3:05. By the time DJs had noticed, it was too late: the song was on its way to becoming one of the most enduring radio tracks.
Bill Medley nails the deep vocals perfectly, with Bobby Hatfield's falsetto in places. But it is the former and Spector's masterful production work that gives this song its timeless quality. A genuine benchmark for music in the 1960s, it reached #1 in the US in 1965 and became Spector's first UK single to reach the top in Britain.
